There’s all kinds of bad bitches running around in Dead North

While I’m all about cases with missing/murdered women and/or children, I can also get pretty interested in cases about women who kill. Because wtf?

So when I started watching the first episode of Dead North and realized the case was about a missing guy, what really caught my attention were the fabulous law enforcement ladies looking into his disappearance.

Greetings from the UP! Aka the land of American people who kinda have Canadian accents.

The big draw: Lady Sheriff Laura Frizzo and her female detective sidekick are trying to build a case against a suspected female serial killer. (SPOILER: There’s a female P.I. too!!) Coming off my Killing Eve high, I’m ready to keep this ass-kicking estrogen party going.

Let’s just say that there are two kinds of true crime shows: Those that utilize dramatic reenactments, and those that prefer b-roll. This kind is engrossingly grossly fantastic. From the intro sequence alone I could tell this show would be pretty dramatic, in the exact way I’d expect from the ID Channel. And boyyy did it deliver.

The series is only four parts so it’s a quick binge, like one big wacky Snapped marathon. Or a companion piece to Evil Genius. Go watch it.

Have you watched Dead North? What did you think?
